Psychological testing for children and adults can assist in diagnostic clarification, guiding treatment recommendations, and accessing various community and academic services. 

Psychological testing is the process in which psychologists use a variety of techniques to gain a better understanding of a person's strengths and limitations. This includes using published, standardized, norm-referenced tests to determine how someone measures an ability, trait, or disorder as compared to similarly aged people. Also included is information often gathered from informal tests and surveys, clinical interviews, medical/school records, and observational data.
